LEGO DUPLO Farm

  • Down On The Farm

  • $$$$$
  • Build

He can fit these large LEGO pieces together and (with a little help!) build a barn for the DUPLO animals that come along with the set. The set has a tractor that the farmer can sit in to ride around the farm, along with a pig, horse, sheep, dog, cows, 4 LEGO figures, and much more!

Strider Balance Bike

  • Pre-Bike Rider

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

Strider bikes help so much with getting kids ready to ride actual bikes! In fact, my own daughter rode a bike twice as fast as her siblings because she had practice balancing on a strider bike first. This bike has an adjustable seat and handlebars so it will grow with him until he’s 5 years old. It’s sturdy and will stand up to vigorous kids. If you get a strider bike for him, don’t forget a helmet as well!

Personal Perspective

This balance bike is a dream come true for my 3-year-old daughter who practically lives on it! It's incredibly lightweight and very well constructed, making it an excellent choice for young kids just starting out. Assembly was a breeze and my son was "flying down the highway" within a few weeks. From cement to dirt, this balance bike gives toddlers a taste of freedom and a sense of being on their very own bicycle.

Good Night Gorilla Board Book

  • Bedtime Stories

  • $$$$$
  • Books

This is such a fun bedtime book to read with toddlers! We follow a zookeeper as he walks around the zoo, checking on the animals when it’s time for them to sleep. But a sneaky gorilla has other ideas, and all the animals plan to spend the night somewhere very different than in their cages! He’ll love pointing out all the zoo animals and making their animal sounds, and the cheeky gorilla is sure to get plenty of laughs. At the end, when all the animals finally go to bed, it’s the perfect time to say goodnight to your own little monkey and tuck him in for the night.

Community Feedback

Love how this bedtime book keeps toddlers engaged with its amusing storyline about a zookeeper and a mischievous gorilla. The narrative is cleverly designed to involve children in identifying various zoo animals and mimicking their sounds. The humor injected through the gorilla's antics adds an element of surprise that kids thoroughly enjoy. As the tale concludes with all the animals settling down for sleep, it creates a smooth transition to my child's own bedtime.

Kids Gardening Tool Set

  • Plant A Seed

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play, Pretend Play

Kids love to mimic their parents, so if his mom or dad likes getting outdoors and planting flowers or vegetables, he’ll want to help! This gardening tool set comes with an apron to keep dirt off.

First-Hand Impression

Got this Play 22 gardening set for my two-year-old great granddaughter who loves to assist her parents in the yard. I noticed a strong chemical smell upon first opening but found that airing it out before presenting it to her was a useful solution. This set, with its adorable little flower pots, markers, apron, caddy, watering can, gloves, and tools was a hit! It not only offers great play value but also serves as a fantastic tool for teaching her about caring for plants and the basics of gardening. Despite the minor setback with the initial smell, the set's overall quality and affordability make it a fair purchase.

Little Tikes T-Ball Set

  • Play Ball

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

He’ll get his first introduction to baseball with this T-ball set! He can also play on his own while an adult sits nearby and takes a much-needed rest – he doesn’t need someone pitching to him when the ball simply rests on the stand. The set has an adjustable height “T” so it can grow along with him. Playing will improve his hand-eye coordination and he’ll have a great time as well.

User Experience

Definitely, this Little Tikes bat and T-ball set stands out with its robust quality and easy-to-use design. The set, however, lacks proper storage for the three balls included, and it's a challenge to place the bat on the stand correctly. Despite these minor issues, the set is a hit, especially with my young nephew who couldn't get enough of it at his birthday party. The durable plastic, easy assembly, and right height make this T-ball set a great tool for teaching children the basics of baseball, while also being a source of endless fun.

Playskool Sit ‘n Spin

  • Spin Around

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

It’s a classic toy most of us remember from our own childhoods, and it’s still a great one today! He can sit on the Sit ‘n Spin, and he can control the speed himself. The toy helps him practice balance, coordination, and gross motor skills as he plays.

Personal Perspective

In my experience, this toy was a delight for both my kids and grandkids, who found endless amusement in spinning around at their own pace, generating laughter and joy. Watching my granddaughter quickly mastering the toy brought back fond childhood memories, and it's clear that this toy is also helping her develop motor skills. It's sturdy and durable with accurate colors, and light enough for my 2-year-old granddaughter to carry around, giving it a thumbs-up for portability and durability.

Wooden Building Blocks Set

  • Building Blocks Of Learning

  • $$$$$
  • Build

Wooden building blocks are a basic kids’ toy, but they’re so important and teach so many educational skills for little ones! He’ll have the fun of building things up and knocking them over with a satisfying crash…but he’s also learning colors, shapes, engineering, spatial awareness, and so much more.

Community Feedback

My experience with these blocks has been quite enjoyable. They've kept my kids engaged and entertained for hours, triggering their imagination and creativity. I particularly like the fact that these blocks are sturdy, well-made, and easy to clean up, given the matching shape holes. However, I was a little disappointed to find branding on some of the pieces - it takes away from the natural aesthetic of the set.

LeapFrog Magnetic Letter Set

  • Learn Letters

  • $$$$$
  • Educational

Make this magnetic set available within his reach – on a dishwasher front or the bottom of a fridge – and he’ll learn his ABCs with almost no help from you! This toy works very simply. He just needs to select a letter, fit it into the spot on the letter slot, and he’ll learn the letter names and sounds, along with other phonics skills. There are also 3 customizable magnets where you can put a picture of a parent or loved one for him to hang on the fridge as well.

First-Hand Impression

Great educational tool, this magnetic set effortlessly teaches kids their ABCs. Just by fitting a letter into the correct slot on the fridge, my son was able to learn letter names and sounds, boosting his phonics skills. Plus, the added feature of three customizable magnets is a nice touch; we used them to hang family photos. This magnetic set truly makes learning interactive and fun.

8.5 Inch Playground Ball

  • Bounce Around

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

We can often make gift-giving for toddlers complicated when the simplest gifts are sometimes the most fun! This bouncy ball is a basic playground ball. It’s rainbow-colored. It bounces wonderfully. And that’s it. Fortunately, that’s all he needs. He’ll have a great time chasing, kicking, throwing, and bouncing this ball and it will get him plenty of exercise, too!

User Experience

Got this rainbow ball for my 3-year-old, and he's thrilled with the bright colors. However, it came with some black marks that were impossible to clean off, and it keeps deflating daily which is disappointing. It's also smaller than expected, more like a mini basketball, but it's still a fun toy for my child to kick and toss around.

Pretend Play Kids Broom & Dustpan Set

  • Clean House

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

Isn’t it funny that chores we now see as a nuisance look like a whole lot of fun to toddlers who love to copy adults? We’re not sure where that passion goes when they’re teens, but take advantage of it for now! This broom & dustpan set lets him copy his parents as they clean. Perhaps they can even get him to sweep up actual dust and dirt and help out. That’s a gift for everyone in the family!

Personal Perspective

I've found that this broom set, although designed as a toy for toddlers, has its quirks. While it fits perfectly in my toddler's hands, the broom head often detaches easily, especially when used as a makeshift sword. That said, a quick application of super glue remedies this issue effectively. The set is lightweight and adequately sized, but the bristles are quite thin, reducing its functionality to a degree. Despite these shortcomings, this broom set has served as a valuable tool to engage my child in household chores, although it's a bit flimsy and the dustpan doesn't sit flush on the floor.

LEGO DUPLO Town Airplane & Airport

  • Fly Away

  • $$$$$
  • Build, Educational

Toddlers love transportation toys! Combine that with LEGO DUPLO blocks he can use to build, and he’ll be over the moon. The set includes 3 figures – a dad, a little girl, and a pilot. It also features an airplane with a removable roof and an airport control tower with a luggage slide to send suitcases down. He’ll have hours of building fun…and hours more of imaginary playtime.

Community Feedback

Excellent Duplo set that has entertained my child consistently, providing diverse figurines that are often lacking in other sets. The airplane was a particular hit, despite a tendency to come apart easily—though its assembly was still manageable for my three-year-old. Its durability and quality live up to the Lego name, giving us confidence in these Duplos we've added to our collection. All in all, this Duplo set was a worthwhile purchase, sparking my child's interest and creativity with each play session.

Crayola Bathtub Fingerpaint

  • Scrub-A-Dub

  • $$$$$
  • Create

What’s more fun than making messes when you’re supposed to be getting clean? Bathtub paints are always a great time – he’ll love painting on the tub, the walls, and himself! The best part for parents is that these messes are all being made with soap that just needs to be rinsed off to get him squeaky clean.

First-Hand Impression

These Crayola bathtub finger paints are a delightful addition to any child's bath time routine. My grandchildren, for instance, adore them, turning each bath into a creative and fun-filled adventure. This product easily wipes off, even when dry, ensuring a fuss-free clean up afterwards. However, despite its enticing aroma, the paints' consistency is akin to a gel, making it less vibrant and prone to spreading too thin.

Green Toys Fire Truck

  • To The Rescue!

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

Large toy trucks painted bright colors are definitely a toddler favorite! This toy fire truck is not only a lot of fun, it’s BPA-free and made with earth-friendly materials, right down to the packaging. He’ll develop both gross and fine motor skills playing with this truck, and he’ll have an awesome time doing it!

User Experience

For a toy that encourages imagination, this fire truck stands out with its simple, yet detailed design. The sturdy construction had proven its resilience to my toddler's rough play, maintaining its vibrant aesthetic despite the occasional bumps and drops. Though the detachable side ladders puzzled me initially as there was no included figure to interact with them, the overall quality and my child's delight in the toy made it a worthy addition to our collection.

Little Tikes Slide

  • Slip Sliding

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

This is a fun slide to use in the backyard, but it’s small enough to move indoors during bad weather, too! He’ll love climbing the steps and sliding down, and the building at the top will make him feel like he’s in his own special treehouse.

Personal Perspective

I found this toddler slide quite delightful and simple to assemble. My grandson, particularly, enjoys playing peek-a-boo and crawling through the openings under the slide, which seems to be great for developing his gross motor skills. However, I noticed some parts felt fragile and challenging to attach, and the side parts staggered when he moved while staying on the top. The design is indeed cute and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, but the awkward "steps" pose a small challenge for the little ones to get to the top on their own. Despite these minor issues, this slide served as a fun winter activity for my 2-year-old grandson in his playroom.

Melissa & Doug Band-in-a-Box

  • Sing A Song

  • $$$$$
  • Create

If you’ve been around young kids for any time at all, you know they love making noise! Help him channel that noise into rhythms and music and get him on the early steps to playing an instrument with this band-in-a-box. It has 10 pieces, including maracas, cymbals, a triangle, a clacker, and more. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get a concert after he opens this present!

Community Feedback

I'm impressed with the durability of these toys, having observed their resilience through two years of regular use and even a small preschool operation. Despite showing some wear, the drum and cymbal still produce great sounds, making them favorites in my household. The set offers a variety of colors and sounds, which my children and preschool students find engaging. One downside is that the clappers require adjustment to produce any sound, and the tambourine often needs reinforcing as its cover tends to tear. However, these minor mishaps don't dampen the fun these toys bring, especially when paired with some catchy tunes.

Octopus Folding Beach Chair

  • Sit Comfy

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

Make him as comfy as his parents with his very own child-sized collapsible chair! This cute octopus chair works great as a beach chair or to bring along camping or on a picnic. It even has a cup holder and a matching storage bag for carrying it around.

First-Hand Impression

I've had hands-on experience with this octopus beach chair and it's undeniably adorable. My kids are enamored with it, constantly fighting over who gets to use it. It's a perfect fit for a 3 or 4-year-old, but my younger tot struggles to climb onto the seat without toppling backwards. One frustrating aspect of this chair is the tiny cup holder, which doesn't fit any of our kids' cups. What's even more exasperating is trying to squeeze the chair back into its bag, it's like tackling an advanced level origami project! Also, a strange blue powder seems to rub off on my child's clothes and skin, which is a bit disconcerting.

Spike The Fine Motor Hedgehog

  • Peg Game

  • $$$$$
  • Educational

He’ll develop his fine motor skills as he takes these large pegs out of Spike the Hedgehog and fits them back in again. Spike’s quills are brightly colored, so he can practice his colors, sorting skills, and counting skills along with his pincer grip. Of course, he won’t realize he’s doing all this learning – he’ll just know he’s having a great time with this toy for 2-year-old boys.

User Experience

Excellent! This educational toy has proven to be both cute and durable. With its versatile design, my toddler loves interacting with the pieces, and even after months of use, he remains engaged and entertained. The toy is also great for honing eye-hand coordination and color recognition. Although I initially wanted the dinosaur model, the hedgehog variant we received has been a delightful surprise, with all its pieces remaining intact and in great condition.

Little Blue Truck Board Book

  • A Friend In Need

  • $$$$$
  • Books

This charming, rhyming board book shows the importance of being a good friend and that one good deed can lead to another! It features an adorable blue truck (he’ll love “beeping” along with the truck), plus a cast of farmyard animals that will be fun to point out as well.

Personal Perspective

Got this Little Blue Truck book for my son and it quickly became his top pick for bedtime stories. The vivid and colorful illustrations, paired with a heartwarming tale about friendship and kindness, keep us coming back to it again and again. The rhythmic rhyming style not only makes it fun to read, but it has also noticeably helped my son in developing his language skills.

Old MacDonald's Farm Sound Puzzle

  • Animal Sounds

  • $$$$$
  • Educational

The animals in this puzzle all have easy-to-grasp pegs so he can pull the pieces out and fit them in again. Each time he gets a piece in the right spot, the animal will sing part of the “Old MacDonald” song! The puzzle includes a farmer, a cow, a pig, chickens, and other barnyard creatures.

Community Feedback

I'm quite captivated by this animal puzzle, which is both engaging and educational for toddlers. Its vibrant and sturdy pieces, adorned with paper sticker pictures, spark curiosity and enhance problem-solving abilities. However, this puzzle has a quirky feature: it sings. Normally, I would find that annoying, but the pleasant rendition of Old MacDonald was surprisingly tolerable. My only gripe is that the song starts when a piece is removed and doesn't necessarily finish each verse, causing a bit of a cacophonous mix if pieces are removed rapidly. So, while it's a delightful choice for little animal lovers, don't forget to switch it off during nap times to avoid any unexpected serenades!

Play-Doh Dino Crew

  • Dino Dough

  • $$$$$
  • Create, Pretend Play

This adorable T-Rex eats Play-Doh…and makes lots of convincing noises as he does! He chomps and crunches and yep – even burps – as he munches on the Play-Doh. This gift for 2-year-old kids also features a see-through stomach where they can watch the Play-Doh land…and then it will come out the other end with more convincing noises.

First-Hand Impression

Bought this Play-Doh dinosaur for my little one, and it instantly became a hit. The dinosaur noises and the burping feature provide endless laughter, and the humorous act of it pooping out the dough adds to the fun. However, the cleaning process can be a little tricky, especially when the dough gets lodged in the tight passages. Despite this minor setback, both my kids are enamored with this toy, even if I end up having to rescue some Play-Doh from its throat now and then.

Toddler Teddy Bear Slippers

  • Toasty Toes

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

His feet will be both warm and adorable in these fluffy, plush slippers! The bears have ears that stick up and fuzzy fur that’s soft and comfortable. They have non-slip soles so kids who like running around the house are better able to keep their balance.

User Experience

For those chilly winter days, these shoes are a hit with the little ones; they're irresistibly soft and adorable, making them perfect companions for cozy Christmas pajamas. Despite their charm, my little girl's pair had a few hiccups – the bunny tail fell off after a day's wear and the non-slip traction didn't hold up on our wood floors, so consider the sizing and surface your child will be running on before purchase.

Click N' Play 18 Piece Beach Set

  • Beach Day

  • $$$$$

Make a day at the beach much more exciting with these sand toys! This set comes with a bucket, shovels, rakes, sand sifters, a watering can, and a mesh bag to store everything in. He can dig, build sandcastles, play in the water, and generally have an awesome beach day!

Personal Perspective

As an adult, I bought this beach toy set for my own enjoyment. The toys are well-made and capable of crafting beautiful sand castles, particularly with the aid of the included shovel. However, the accompanying bag is less impressive, quickly falling apart at the seams, and featuring surprisingly short straps. This beach toy set also seems to possess a magnetic pull for children in the vicinity, so be prepared for spontaneous play sessions. The vibrant colors of the toys are a delightful addition, decorating my patio when not in use. Despite a few minor issues, such as missing screws on the rakes, this product has served its purpose well, not just for beach fun, but also as classroom decorations.

Fisher-Price Classic Xylophone

  • Beautiful Music

  • $$$$$
  • Create

He can pull this xylophone along behind him to hear it play music, or he can use the mallet to strike the keys. The bright rainbow-colored toy will help him learn not just rhythm and music, but he can practice his colors, work on hand-eye coordination, and put his gross motor skills to work.

Community Feedback

Great, this toy has managed to capture the attention and love of my child and others of varying ages. Despite my initial concerns about the short cord and the odd choice of having two red colors at the end, I found that these did not detract from the overall play experience. This toy, a classic pull-behind, has proven its quality and appeal, and it's worth noting that my child doesn't seem to mind the minor quirks I mentioned.

Fisher-Price Little People Airplane

  • Take A Trip

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

Airplanes make such fun toys! This one comes with a pilot and a passenger. When Pilot Kurt sits in his seat, the plane plays fun sounds and songs and lights up. Another button plays even more sounds and phrases. He can spin the turbine engine and spend hours pretending with his new plane as it flies to parts unknown.

First-Hand Impression

Got this Fisher Price Little People toy for my kids and it's been a hit! This toy's durability and ability to spark imaginative play is a standout feature, and it's great for all ages, although it seems to be a particular favorite among the 2-4 year-olds. From my son's taco truck adventures with dinosaurs to my grandson's fascination with the moving parts and sounds of his airplane toy - it's evident that these toys not only entertain but also encourage creative thinking and role-playing.

iLearn Kids Golf Set

  • Tee Time

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

Is he the next Tiger Woods? He can get started with this golf set designed just for toddlers! It comes with a ball-to-tee trainer, golf balls, a club, a putter, a left driver head, and a right driver head. He can practice on his own or with an adult who wants to get him ready for the green.

Personal Perspective

For an energetic little one, this golf set has proven to be quite the hit. The thrill of loading up the machine, stepping on the pedal, and launching lightweight balls across the room has been a source of incredible excitement and fun. Despite a minor hiccup when the spring got off track, it was an easy fix and has held up well to the enthusiastic swings of a 4-year-old. Notably, the set's versatility has been impressive, switching club heads from driver to putter effortlessly, though I wish there was an iron head for practice chipping. It's been a great indoor and outdoor activity tool, helping to develop and refine those swing-eye coordination skills. Despite the tee occasionally flying off, it's a straightforward reattachment and doesn't slow down the playtime.

Woodland Animals Growth Chart

  • See Me Grow

  • $$$$$
  • Create

His parents can proudly record his height (and maybe tear up a little at the same time) with this woodland animal growth chart. It comes personalized with his name at the top and is printed with adorable animals. It’s a unique, sweet present he can keep forever.

Qilay Wooden Train Set

  • Choo-Choo!

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

Kids love playing trains, and this quality wooden set is one he’ll use for a good long time! It comes with 69 pieces of wooden track, a train station, trees, cars, a helicopter, and other fun accessories. He can spend hours playing on his own or with his friends or siblings. He could even combine his train set with his Fisher-Price people or LEGOs for endless possibilities.

First-Hand Impression

Definitely, this train set has made a significant impact on our family's playtime. The high-quality, solid construction of these pieces is comparable, if not superior, to pricier brands, effortlessly integrating with our existing sets. However, it's worth noting that the small finger-sized holes in the wooden track may pose a potential issue for tiny explorers. Despite this, the set's durability and the endless hours of enjoyment it offers make it a beloved toy in our household.

My Very Own Tool Set

  • Fix-It Felix

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

Since kids love copying their parents, he’ll love having his own tool set to work alongside his mom or dad as they fix and build things! This tool set includes a toddler-friendly toy saw, hammer, screwdriver, wrench, drill, and toolbox. If he squeezes the drill, it even makes sounds like an actual drill.

User Experience

My little nephew absolutely adores this tool set, carrying it around everywhere to "assist" in household tasks. The tools are sturdy, surviving even the toughest of teething, and perfect for his small hands. He's fascinated by every tool, especially the screwdriver, which he used to "fix" a toy that ran out of batteries. Although, I must admit, the toolbox could be a bit larger to fit all the tools comfortably.

Shape Sorter Toy

  • Learn Shapes & Sizes

  • $$$$$
  • Educational

This wooden shape sorter is a classic toddler toy! He’ll learn how to fit different shapes into each of the holes in the box, helping him with problem-solving, fine motor skills, sorting, and color recognition. The shapes get stored inside the box as well, so it’s easy to clean up when he’s done!

Personal Perspective

My experience with this shape sorter has been largely positive, with the product capturing my two-year-old's attention due to its unique shapes and suitable size for small hands. The smooth, brightly colored surfaces and sturdy wooden construction add to its appeal. However, there are a few design flaws such as some shapes fitting into the wrong holes and the lid not being secure, causing the shapes to spill out when turning the box. Ingeniously, I discovered that turning the carry handles inside and placing the lid on top of them mostly solves the lid issue.

LittleHippo Children's Sleep Trainer

  • Wake Up

  • $$$$$
  • Educational

If you’re tired of your toddler running into your room at all hours of the night, ready to get up and party, this could be a great solution! The MELLA clock is designed to teach kids who aren’t old enough to tell time when they can get up each morning. The clock begins to glow yellow to signal it’s almost time to get up and turns green when it’s actually time to get out of bed. The clock face also has facial expressions to tell kids when to rise and shine.

Community Feedback

In my experience, the MELLA Ready to Rise Children's Sleep Trainer has been quite beneficial for my autistic daughter's sleep patterns, especially with its easy-to-understand color cues for sleep and wake times. However, I was a bit disappointed with the loud sound machine and lack of volume control, which can be problematic for children with Sensory Processing Disorder, and the brightness of the night light which could not be dimmed.

  • Down On The Farm

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

First-Hand Impression

Got this Fisher Price Little People toy for my kids and it's been a hit! This toy's durability and ability to spark imaginative play is a standout feature, and it's great for all ages, although it seems to be a particular favorite among the 2-4 year-olds. From my son's taco truck adventures with dinosaurs to my grandson's fascination with the moving parts and sounds of his airplane toy - it's evident that these toys not only entertain but also encourage creative thinking and role-playing.

Personal Perspective

I'm genuinely impressed with this baby phone's robust build and captivating features. From the enticing colors and sounds to the interactive touch functions, it manages to keep my little ones constantly engaged. Despite a minor issue with the number-saving feature resetting, the overall design of this toy phone, including its pretend phone book and music player, has proven to be a delightful tool aiding in their fine motor skills development.

He can pretend to go on outdoor adventures with this camping set! It comes with a tent, telescope, walkie-talkie, whistle, compass, flashlight, and all the other gear he’ll need to have an awesome campout in the living room. This would make a cool Christmas or birthday present and could be fun to set up under the tree before he wakes up Christmas morning.

Community Feedback

My experience with this outdoor-themed toy set was largely positive, especially when I saw the excitement in my great-grandson's eyes. The tent is a good size and the numerous toys it comes with can provide hours of fun for the children. However, I did notice some minor issues such as the walkie talkies not working properly and the flask being nonfunctional due to a tiny hole. Despite these hitches, I believe these toys, particularly the working compass and flashlight, genuinely enhance the joy of kids who love the outdoors.

Radio Flyer Red Rider Trike

  • Tricycle Time

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

This trike is an award-winning present parents have been giving their toddlers and preschoolers for generations, and it’s still beloved today! He’ll have a great time with a Radio Flyer tricycle. The smooth wheels mean he won’t have trouble making it go, and the trike even features covered storage so he can bring a favorite toy or treasure along with him on his ride.

First-Hand Impression

I purchased this tricycle for my son's third birthday and I must say, it's heartwarmingly adorable. The ease of assembly and adjustable seat make it a perfect fit, even for a little one who can't fully reach the pedals yet. What's even more impressive is the effortless pedal-pushing that allows my son to ride around with his favorite toy in the 'trunk'. Despite its sturdy construction, there's quite a bit of plastic involved, but that doesn't take away from its charm. While the tires could be improved, this tricycle, with its cute tassels and spacious trunk, has brought so much joy to our home.

Mix 'n Match Wooden Bear Puzzle

  • Bear Aware

  • $$$$$
  • Educational

This toy for 2-year-old boys is a sturdy, fun twist on classic paper dolls. The magnetic puzzle features a Mama, Papa, and Baby Bear, along with pants, shirts, dresses, and other items the bears can wear. The magnets fit each piece of clothing on the bear, so he can dress them up and move them around while the clothes stay securely in place.

User Experience

My experience with this bear family puzzle has been a mixed bag of delight and tiny frustrations. My kids, who were 2 and 4 when we first got it, have enjoyed it for two years as a "quiet toy", even if they've managed to lose a piece here and there. The puzzle is great for teaching facial expressions, with each bear having about 5 different puzzle heads, and it's easy for little hands to manipulate. However, the pictures are essentially stickers glued to the wooden pieces and some have peeled off over time, leaving us with a few faceless pieces. While the puzzle is well-loved and has held up excellently, it comes across as slightly overpriced and I do wish there was a cover for the top for easier transportation and storage.

Slide and Find Trucks

  • Discover Fun Trucks

  • $$$$$
  • Books

This interactive book has doors to slide, lots of bright colors, and fun trucks to examine on each page. He’ll learn about each of the trucks, and he’ll also learn about the occupations of the people who drive the trucks. The sturdy board construction also means this book will hold up well.

Personal Perspective

From the first time my one-year-old son laid eyes on this transportation-themed book, he was hooked. The vibrant, eye-catching illustrations and sturdy slide windows immediately held his interest, often making this his go-to choice for bedtime reading. However, the sliding mechanism does require some breaking in, much to my child's initial frustration, but it becomes smoother with use. Despite this, he is captivated by the interactive elements and enjoys having the different vehicles named and questions about them answered, making this book a firm favorite in our home.

Star Belly Dream Lites

  • A Sweet Night Light

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

This sweet stuffed animal does double duty as a comfort item at night when he goes to sleep and as a night light. Press on the belly of the cuddly dinosaur or other animal, and he’ll see glowing stars and shapes that drift across the ceiling and walls as he drifts off to sleep.

Community Feedback

Best purchase for my kids who are scared of the dark. This unicorn toy not only delighted my 3-year-old son but also his 2-year-old sister. The variety of colors and adjustable speeds, which my kids can change, make these toys even more attractive. Although the packaging was not as expected, the quality of the item was not compromised. Despite the higher price tag, the joy and better sleep it brings to my kids make this product worth every penny.

Crayola Washable Fingerpaints

  • Make Masterpieces

  • $$$$$
  • Create

Indulge his desire to make a big ol’ mess with these fingerpaints! He’ll love getting his hands dirty, and creating bright, colorful art at the same time. The set includes six 8-oz bottles of paints – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The paints are non-toxic so kids can play and paint to their heart’s content!

First-Hand Impression

My initial experience with these paints was overwhelmingly positive; they arrived in excellent condition and were a hit with my young granddaughter. The vibrant colors captivated her attention, and she enjoyed the sensory experience of painting with her fingers. I found these paints to be easy to clean up, which, as any parent or grandparent will know, is a crucial feature. I also appreciated the fact that these paints were washable, a trait that was thoroughly tested during numerous painting sessions. While some reviewers mentioned receiving duplicate colors, I was relieved to find that my set included a diverse range of hues.

Kids Ball Pit Tents and Tunnels

  • Crawl & Play

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

Bring home the fun of a kids’ play place without the germs! He’ll love venturing through these tunnels and into the various cubes until he gets to the ball pit at the end. On the outside of one of the cubes, there’s a dart game, complete with Velcro balls to toss at the targets. This would be a great present for kids who live in areas that get too cold or too hot to play outdoors at times – they can get their active fun in their very own tunnel instead!

User Experience

I'm truly impressed by this Crawl & Play set. My child has spent countless hours exploring the tunnels and cubes, and the ball pit at the end is definitely his favorite part. The additional dart game on one of the cubes adds an extra layer of entertainment, with Velcro balls that are easy to toss and stick to the targets. This play set is particularly beneficial for those days when the weather is too extreme for outdoor play.

Bubble Leaf Blower

  • Tiny Bubbles

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

He’ll love the endless bubbles coming from this toy that resembles a leaf blower! He can set it on the ground and chase bubbles all over the yard or hold it like an adult would hold a leaf blower and spray bubbles all over. Either way, he’ll be delighted.

Personal Perspective

I'm quite enamored with this bubble blower for its user-friendly design and ability to captivate young minds. My 2-year-old found it straightforward to operate and it became a source of endless amusement for her and her cousins. Unlike other bubble machines we've owned, this one doesn't leak or exhaust bubbles at an unsustainable rate, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor play. Even when the bubbles run out, my child's imagination takes over and she uses it as a pretend leaf blower. I had to repurchase this bubble blower after an unfortunate accident, and despite one instance of an open bubble fluid bottle, the joy it brings my child makes it worth it. This bubble blower has become a beloved toy in our household, and even my 3-year-old nephew has fun with it in the bath!

GUND Philbin Teddy Bear

  • Grin And Bear It

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

Nothing beats a cuddly, snuggly, classic teddy bear! This chocolate brown bear has the best expression and is huggable and ridiculously soft. Since Philbin the bear is made by the oldest maker of stuffed animals and soft toys in the U.S., you know he’ll be of great quality, too.

Community Feedback

Love how this bear, although small, is incredibly soft and endearing. As soon as my daughter got her hands on it, she couldn't resist snuggling with it, proving the bear's irresistible charm and high-quality make. Although a bit on the pricey side, its adorable design and the comfort it provides make it worth the investment. It's not just a hit among the kids in my family, even I couldn't resist getting a couple for myself! Whether for a child or an adult, this bear can bring a lot of joy and companionship, making it the perfect teddy.

Count & Rumble Piggy Bank

  • Good Little Piggy

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play, Educational

This plastic, jumbo-sized pretend piggy bank is great practice and calls on all kinds of skills when he plays with it! He’ll learn sorting and counting, and he’ll get fine motor practice by fitting the coins into the slot at the top of the pig. The toy has songs and sounds, and it will count along as he drops coins in the slot. He’ll get even more sounds by pressing the piggy’s nose.

First-Hand Impression

My experience with this toy pig has been largely positive as it provides a unique blend of fun and education for children. It's particularly appealing to my son, who derives great joy from "feeding" the pig with plastic coins, leading to daily usage. However, a minor flaw lies in the pig's design, as its belly touches the ground, causing it to wobble and become unsteady, especially when it vibrates. This issue can be easily rectified by attaching small rubber feet from a local hardware store. Furthermore, I noticed that there are multiple versions of this pig toy, with varying features such as counting, singing, and shaking, so it's crucial to read the product description carefully to ensure the selected toy meets all desired functionalities.

Toddlers' 4-Piece Pajama Set

  • Sleep Tight

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

This 4-piece pajama set features two long-sleeved tops and two sets of PJ pants in snuggly, comfortable, warm fleece. They make perfect winter pajamas. The fact that they’re a top and bottom, rather than zip-up footie pajamas, is also easier on potty-training toddlers who might need to make a trip to the bathroom quickly. Dinosaurs and fire trucks on the front mean he’ll love his new sleepwear.

User Experience

Excellent! These jammies have become my toddler's favorite, especially the one with the glow-in-the-dark alien. The snug cotton top and soft, blanket-like fleece pants offer the perfect combo of comfort and warmth, ideal for chilly winter nights. However, I did have to adjust the length of the fleece pants and the waist a bit for a perfect fit. Despite this, the vibrant colors, cool graphics, and excellent fabric quality make these pajamas a hit in our household.

12 Pack Mini Pullback Vehicles

  • Mini Cars

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

These tiny cars work by simply pulling them back on a grippy surface, then letting them go! They’ll speed along the ground, powered by their wind-up wheels. They’re a good size for small toddler hands, and the set comes with a police car, a fire truck, a taxi, and other brightly colored vehicles. These would be fun stocking stuffers at Christmas or as a party favor for friends.

Personal Perspective

If you're looking for a vibrant and entertaining toy for your young ones, these trucks hit the spot with their vivid colors and adorable designs. Despite their size being smaller than expected, the robust construction and effective pull-back feature add to the overall play value, even proving to be a hit with household pets. However, bear in mind that some of the designs may not translate well and the size might not suit toddlers, but the humor and charm of these mini vehicles can still bring about plenty of laughter and fun.

Little Fur Family Board Book

  • Snug Little Family

  • $$$$$
  • Books

The story of the little fur family, warm as toast, is a great one for just before bedtime. The rhymes are soft and soothing, and the story is a mellow one about a little fur family and their activities, which end with the baby heading off to bed for the night.

Community Feedback

I've been thoroughly captivated by the charm of this little book, especially its soft furry exterior and enchanting illustrations. Spending time with this book, I found myself immersed in the adventures of the little fur family, a narrative that delicately balances a sense of exploration and safety, making it a magical experience. The story doesn't condescend to its young audience, instead, it invites them into a world where the ordinary becomes extraordinary - a notion that resonates with me deeply. While the narrative structure might seem peculiar at times, it's this uniqueness that stands out, making this book an incomparably delightful experience.

Pretend & Play Steering Wheel

  • Baby Driver

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

He’ll be thrilled to drive just like his parents…and his parents might be shocked at how many of their driving habits he picked up! This toy features an accelerator and brake pedal, plus a ride-on seat. The car plays songs and lights, and 3 buttons make the noises of a police car, a fire truck, and an ambulance. He’ll also have turn signals, a honking horn, and a rearview mirror to check.

First-Hand Impression

If you're considering buying this toy, you might want to think twice. I was initially impressed with its quality and my kids seemed to love it. However, after a few weeks, I noticed the toy started to malfunction - the screen that the toy car drives on stopped rolling and the rear view mirrors kept falling off. My kids, ranging from a toddler to a 5-year-old, were initially attracted to it but now they've lost interest. For the price I paid, I expected a toy that would last longer and function properly. It's unfortunate because this toy had the potential to be a great indoor alternative to Power Wheels.

Step2 Best Chefs Kitchen Playset

  • Chef In The Kitchen

  • $$$$$
  • Pretend Play

Kitchen playsets are hugely popular with kids, and they can spend hours cooking up imaginary dishes and feeding them to their friends and family. This kitchen has a realistic stovetop with burners that light up. The stove also makes noises like the sounds of a pan frying food and a pot boiling water. This kitchen also has a coffee maker station, an oven with a door that opens and closes, and accessories to use in the kitchen.

User Experience

Excellent in both design and durability, this kitchen toy set has provided countless hours of creative play for my little one. The ease of assembly was a definite plus, although there was a minor issue with pre-drilled holes not being present for the screws. Despite being a little light on sound and light effects, this kitchen set's realistic cooking sounds, automatic turn-off feature, and enduring quality over the years make it a worthwhile investment for fostering imaginative play and learning about food.

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe

  • Drive Around Town

  • $$$$$
  • Active Play

This coupe is a perfect gift for 2-year-old kids! It’s not too fancy, but it has everything they need to play. The plastic car has four smoothly rotating wheels, a plastic door he can open to get inside, and a steering wheel. He can power the car with his own two feet – the floor is cut out so his feet can run along the ground. The coupe has a gas cap that actually opens, plus storage in the back for whatever he’s taking on his little road trip.

Personal Perspective

This little car, despite its surprisingly smaller size compared to older models, is a huge hit with my 18-month-old granddaughter. Assembling it was quite the challenge, with some tricky parts involving the front wheels and axle that required a good deal of force. Even so, seeing my granddaughter's joy as she climbed aboard made the wrestle worth it.
