Portable LED Camping Lantern with Ceiling Fan

  • Number One Fan

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful, Comfort

When it comes to camping, finding gear that serves multiple functions is the name of the game. This lantern is also a fan, and we are a huge fan of the budget-friendly price tag! It is battery-powered, which is awesome for campers traveling without a power bank or prioritizing their juice for other gadgets.

User Experience

I recently used this camping fan on a three-day trip and only needed to change the batteries once. The fan effectively circulated air in the tent, and while the light wasn't ultra-bright, it was sufficient for a 3-person tent. I also used the fan in my house when the air conditioning failed, and it provided a nice breeze on my deck. The battery cover is a bit easy to unscrew, and I wish there was a plug-in option, but these are minor quibbles. All in all, this fan, despite its small size, does a fantastic job in keeping you cool and well-lit during your outdoor adventures.

Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer

  • Power To The People

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful

Speaking of power banks, this one is an absolute winner. It can charge a wide variety of devices, from phones to laptops and more, plus, it can hook up to solar panels to recharge. It is an excellent gift for campers that want or need to stay connected to the technological world while enjoying the great outdoors.

Personal Perspective

In my quest for a reliable and portable power solution, I found the Jackery 240 to be a solid choice. This rechargeable generator proved to be a convenient companion during a recent power outage in NJ. I was able to use it to power a low wattage heater and even charge various electronic items. While I wouldn't recommend it for heating purposes due to the power drain, it did a commendable job with my Wagan Thermoelectric Cooler/Warmer. However, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of a USB-C outlet and the slow charging speed. Despite these minor drawbacks, I found this product to be a great addition to my emergency kit.

Memory Foam Camping Mattress

  • Sleep On A Cloud

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

A high-quality camping mattress pad can make the difference between a peaceful night in nature and a sleepless night on the cold, hard ground. This mattress pad provides nearly three inches of body-hugging memory foam that will make them feel like they’re sleeping on one of the many marshmallows they probably ate.

Fair warning, this mattress pad has a fair bit of bulk—which is the entire reason it’s so comfy— but also means it might not be a great pick for a long-distance backpacker. We think this would be an excellent camping gift for a car or campsite camper.

Community Feedback

I'm an avid camper and this camping mattress pad has truly enhanced my outdoor experiences. The nearly three inches of body-hugging memory foam gives the illusion of sleeping on a cloud, providing an unmatched level of comfort that outweighs its bulky nature. Although it may not be ideal for long-distance backpackers due to its size, it's a perfect fit for car or campsite camping. I've noticed a significant difference in the quality of my sleep, no longer having to endure cold, hard ground.

Ultra-Compact Aluminum Camping Table

  • Let's Table It For Now

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

Not every camper will want to bring a table with them, but for the ones that do, this is a fantastic pick. It has enough space to fit up to four people and folds down to fit in a convenient carrying case. From cookouts to fishing trips, this lightweight table could make a great camping or RV accessory.

First-Hand Impression

My experience with this table has been incredibly positive; its compact and lightweight design made it easy to bring along on my motorcycle camping trips. Though the legs initially felt a bit wobbly, they firmed up once the tabletop was secured, providing a surprisingly stable surface for meals and card games. Despite its initial assembly being somewhat tricky, with repeated use, I've found the process became simpler and the table's robust construction and versatility have made it an excellent addition to my outdoor adventures.

Pack of 2 Outdoor Flashlight Headlamps

  • The Light Of My Life

  • $$$$$
  • Useful

These headlights are so powerful we’re sure your favorite campers will give them glowing reviews! This set of two would be a lovely gift for couples that love to spend time in the great outdoors. Add some trail mix, thick hiking socks, and a nice picnic blanket, and you’ve got all the makings of a fun camping gift basket.

User Experience

My experience with this headlamp has been a mix of positivity and minor setbacks. The illumination it provides is top-notch, ensuring a clear path during my night walks and it holds its charge for an impressive length of time. However, the strap could use some improvements as it tends to be too large and slippery, making it less than ideal for smaller heads or intense activities.

Portable Camping Kitchen Utensil Set

  • Please Set The Picnic Table

  • $$$$$
  • Useful

We have been on more than one camping trip with someone that only packed a spoon, and while that may be space-saving, it’s not exactly practical. This set has everything a camper needs to roast some weenies, chop up some veggies, and even pop open a bottle of wine. Plus, everything fits neatly into a nice carrying case! No more random knives floating around in their backpack!

Personal Perspective

I'm incredibly thrilled with this camp cookware set which efficiently covers all basic cooking needs, whether it's for campfires or propane stove cooking. The set, conveniently packed in a compact blue backpack, is not only perfect for camping but also handy for extended hotel stays. The sturdy and well-sized utensils including a cutting board and scissors, are easy to use, wash, and store, making this set an excellent choice for scout cooking as well. Having gifted this camp cookware set to my daughter and son-in-law, who are avid campers, I can attest to the joy it brings, truly embodying the saying that good things come in small packages.

First Aid Kit Survival Kit

  • Just In Case

  • $$$$$
  • Useful

A well-stocked first-aid kit is an absolute essential for any camper, regardless of how experienced they are. This kit has everything they might need and more, all organized and compressed into a surprisingly sleek pack. It even has practical survival tools like multi-function pliers and a tactical folding knife. We sincerely hope they never need to use most of these tools, but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Community Feedback

I was thrilled with this first aid kit, it's filled to the brim with essentials making it ideal for my hiking trips and has given me a renewed sense of confidence in handling minor situations. The sturdy case encloses everything from bandages and disinfectants to a multi-tool and fishing line, although the quality of the hook and line could be improved. Despite being a bit heavy due to its contents, the compactness of the kit makes it a practical addition to my backpack, proving its worth with every use.

Fleece Camo Hand Warmer Muff and Fanny Pack

  • Muffy The Cold Hand Slayer

  • $$$$$
  • Accessories, Comfort

We all have that one friend who is absolutely always cold, the type of person that packs a sweatshirt in the middle of the summer, level cold. Help them out with one of these fleece hand warmer and fanny pack combos. They can keep the essentials at hand while keeping those hands nice and toasty!

First-Hand Impression

After enduring several cold hunting seasons in central NY, I found this Natural Gear muff to be a wonderfully effective solution to frigid hands. The quality of construction and materials is notable, with sound stitching and ample insulation ensuring a warm and comfortable experience. The muff also features a sturdy zipper on the front pocket, which provides organized storage for essential items like a flashlight or folding knife. While it did take some time to adjust to the buckle being on the left side, this minor inconvenience is overshadowed by the reliable warmth the muff provides, even in subzero temperatures.

Bottle Sized Compact Outdoor Chair

  • Have A Collapsible Seat

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

Whether your happy camper likes to backpack to remote destinations or drive right up to their camp spot, space-saving tools are essential. Unlike other collapsable chairs, this one folds down to the size of a bottle. We cannot overemphasize how convenient this is, especially for longer trips where every inch of space matters.

User Experience

I've used this chair several times now, and I must say, it lives up to its claim of being lightweight and portable, making it a great companion for outdoor activities like football practices and camping. While the setup isn't quite as instantaneous as advertised, I've mastered it to about 30 seconds which is still impressively quick. However, I must caution potential buyers that while it is comfortable for shorter durations, extended use can cause some discomfort, especially if you're a larger individual like me, and the price point is quite high.

Double Sleeping Bag with 2 Pillows

  • All You Need For Camping Cuddles

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

Many outdoorsy people already own their own single-capacity sleeping bags. But once those outdoorsy people find their other half and become a camping couple, they have an important decision to make— do we join our sleeping bags, attempt to cuddle in separate bags, or buy a new one?

Decide for them with this double sleeping bag that comes with two pillows. Finally, gone are the days of slippery, staticky, separate sleeping bag cuddles! This sleeping bag would be an excellent gift for couples that love camping!

Personal Perspective

Definitely, this double sleeping bag has revolutionized my camping experience as a part of a duo. The inclusion of two pillows and the spaciousness for two has eliminated the awkward, uncomfortable attempts at closeness in separate bags. The comfort and practicality of this sleeping bag has truly enhanced our outdoor adventures, making it an excellent addition for any camping couple.

Yarrashop Portable Toilet Camping Toilet

  • A Family-Friendly Camping Bathroom

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Cleanliness, Useful

Not everyone is comfortable with the grab a shovel and a leaf approach to camping potty tips. But that doesn’t mean they should miss out on the fun of camping! This portable toilet is a great choice for families or adults that love camping but aren’t a big fan of squatting behind a tree. It can hold up to 400 pounds and comes with a set of perfectly sized trash bags to get them started.

Community Feedback

My family and I found this potty incredibly handy during our camping trips, especially with its compact size that folds up for travel and can support a considerable weight. Despite its small size and short stature, its sturdiness and the inclusion of trash bags for easy disposal made it a convenient solution for our middle-of-the-night needs.

OlimpiaFit Microfiber Towels - Quick Dry 3 Size Pack

  • Don’t Forget To Bring A Towel!

  • $$$$$
  • Cleanliness, Useful

All camping enthusiasts know to expect their belongings to get wet, from freak rainstorms to spontaneous skinny dipping in the river. But, thanks to these towels, now they can expect things to dry as well! These microfiber quick dry towels are an absolute godsend for backpacking and camping alike. And with this set of three sizes, they don’t have to dry their dishes with the same towel they use on their bodies.

First-Hand Impression

In my experience, these towels are highly versatile and practical. They quickly became a staple in our family outings; their compact size and quick-drying nature are a major plus, especially when we go camping or swimming. However, I do have a minor issue with the loop placement on the largest towel, as it causes the towel to hang longer than ideal. Despite this, the towel set's overall performance is excellent, offering great value for the cost, even if the face towel feels too soft for body use.

Fire Color Changing Packets for Fire Pit

  • A Trippy Treat For Camping Trips

  • $$$$$
  • Novelties

Every camping enthusiast will agree that one of the best parts is sitting around the campfire after a long day of adventures, cracking open a cold one, and trading stories. You could help make their campfire experience significantly more trippy with these color-changing packets. Kids and trippy adults alike will love this mesmerizing display!

User Experience

As an avid camper, I found these fire colorants to be a delightful addition to our recent trip. The vivid hues produced by adding just one or two packets into the fire were truly captivating and provided a unique element of fun for the kids. However, for larger fires, I found that using three packs was more effective, but a fourth could have enhanced the color display even more.

Oasser Trunk Organizer

  • For The Junk In Your Trunk

  • $$$$$
  • Useful

Why did we include a trunk organizer on a camping gift list? Obviously, for the subset of campers that we like to refer to as “car campers.” There is something so utterly convenient about driving up to your campsite for the night, starting your fire, and having everything you need in the trunk of your car (versus on your back).

If you’re looking for camping gifts for a car camper, this organizer can help them keep all the essentials in order and within easy reach.

Personal Perspective

I found this trunk organizer incredibly helpful for my car camping trips. It provided a level of convenience that streamlined my camping experience, keeping all my essentials well-ordered and within arm's reach. While using this organizer, I realized that having everything neatly stowed in the trunk of my car, rather than haphazardly strewn about, made my camping experience significantly more enjoyable and efficient.

Kindling Wood Fire Starter Sticks

  • Let’s Get It Started, Hot

  • $$$$$
  • Useful

Getting a fire started and keeping it going can feel like a full-time job on a campout. These kindling fire starter sticks make the whole process so much easier! Put these into a gift basket along with the ingredients for s’mores or other fun camping cookout accessories, and you’ve created an awesome gift for camping enthusiasts!

Community Feedback

I'm quite impressed with how easily these kindling sticks light up and sustain the flame long enough to ignite the logs in my woodstove. Although they may seem smaller and may require a handful to get the fire going, their dry hardwood composition and varying sizes make them efficient for poking into crevices and starting about 40 fires per box, which in my experience, has been quite satisfactory.

Portable Outdoor Waterproof Solar Power Bank

  • Let The Sun Charge Your Phone

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful

Suppose your happy camper enjoys heading out for extended camping trips or has many electronics to keep charged on their adventures. In that case, this solar-powered portable charger is one of our favorite camping gift ideas. It allows the user to charge it up from a regular outlet before they hit the trails, then use the solar panels when they’re out in the wilderness. Plus, it doubles as a flashlight, and you already know how much we support multi-functional camping items.

First-Hand Impression

I'm absolutely thrilled with this solar-powered portable charger; it's been a reliable companion on my extended camping trips, keeping my electronics juiced up even in the heart of the wilderness. The added flashlight function is a delightful bonus, underscoring its multifunctionality and enhancing its value for any outdoor enthusiast.

Storage Strap with 8 Hooks

  • Hang In There

  • $$$$$
  • Useful, Novelties

Honestly, we want this storage strap. From a makeshift clothing line to keeping your food safe from bears, this is such an incredibly useful strap! It also includes eight carabiner hooks, which are like candy to avid campers (if you weren’t aware). Seriously, when your camping friend unwraps this gift, prepare yourself for them to freak out over the usefulness.

User Experience

Love the utility of this camping strap! It's been a fantastic addition to my outdoor trips, as it not only keeps my campsite tidy but also serves as an impromptu tarp holder during sudden showers. This strap is light and compact, making it ideal for backpacking and essential for drying gear or keeping it off the ground. However, I have noticed that the ends for securing it around trees are shorter than preferred, which can sometimes limit placement options. The strap itself is strong, but the snaps could use some improvement as they tend to unsnap under weight, leading me to improvise with knots. Despite these minor inconveniences, this strap's versatility and compact design make it an invaluable tool in my camping arsenal.

Double Portable Hammock with Tree Straps

  • A Great Lounger For Couples

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

Sipping a beer, cuddling with your love, and dangling between two lush trees is pretty much the definition of camping couple goals. This easily portable double hammock has everything they need to secure, store, and relax in their new favorite gear. It’s an excellent gift for couples or kids and can support up to 500 pounds. Plus, it’s available in almost 30 different colors and a real budget price for this type of gear.

Personal Perspective

This hammock is surprisingly larger than expected, comfortably fitting two adults and packing up to roughly the size of a half-gallon jug. Its sturdy straps make for easy setup and adjustment, making it perfect for any camping trip or backyard lounging. I was initially skeptical about its weight capacity, being a larger guy myself, but it effortlessly held both me and my son, enveloping us in a cozy burrito-like wrap. Just remember to take it down when not in use, as its UV protection might be questionable, but that's a small tradeoff for such a quality product.

Sandproof Waterproof Beach Mat Oversized

  • Picnic With All Your Pals

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

This waterproof mat might be meant for beachgoers, but it’s super useful for campers and hikers as well! As we mentioned before, multi-functional items are absolutely ideal for campers. This beach mat can be used as a picnic blanket, water-resistant tarp, or even hung from trees for a makeshift rain shelter.

Community Feedback

When I first used this beach blanket, I was pleasantly surprised at how effortlessly the sand brushed off, eliminating the usual hassle of cleaning up sanded beach towels. Despite its generous size, it folds easily and stows away in a compact bag, making it a convenient choice for beach outings. However, it does feel a bit like cheap plastic, lacking the comfort of cloth-backed picnic blankets I've used before.

Rotating Marshmallow Roasting Sticks

  • S’mores, Please!

  • $$$$$
  • Novelties

You can give someone the gift of perfectly toasted marshmallows. Smokey the Bear told you that only you can prevent forest fires, but we are telling you that only you can prevent burnt smores. We understand this is a huge responsibility, but we trust that your camper can handle it.

The skewers rotate for evenly roasted marshmallows, hotdogs, or whatever camping snack they want to make. This gift set could be a fun and unique camping gift for families, couples, or any s’mores aficionado.

First-Hand Impression

Best purchase I've made for our camping trips has been this gift set. This set took our marshmallow toasting to a whole new level; no more charred s'mores for us! The rotating skewers allowed for an even roast of marshmallows and even hotdogs, enhancing our campfire snack experience. This gift set isn't just for s’mores enthusiasts, but also for families and couples who appreciate a unique touch to their camping adventures. Truly, this gift set has elevated our camping culinary game, making it an investment I don't regret.

Wekapo Inflatable Lounger Air Sofa Hammock

  • Inflatable Comfort

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful, Novelties

Hammocks aren’t always the greatest option for camping lounge seating. Sometimes there aren’t enough trees around, and other times people simply don’t want to hang from the available trees. This inflatable lounger compresses to the size of a small bag but inflates to a full-body chaise-style seat. Plus, it has pillow support, something that is chronically missing for many campers.

User Experience

I found this inflatable lounger quite impressive, especially at the beach where it turned heads and sparked interest. Although inflating it can be tricky without a good breeze, once filled, it was exceptionally comfy to relax on. However, I did find the accompanying stake design inadequate, as it was a bit short and potentially hazardous if not fully inserted into the ground. Despite these minor flaws, this lounger served as a portable and versatile relaxation spot for various venues, including music festivals and home use.

TETON Sports Scout 3400 Internal Frame Backpack

  • Pack It Up, Pack It In

  • $$$$$
  • Accessories, Useful

Finding the perfect camping backpack can depend on a variety of factors and personal preferences. This could be a great starter backpack for those just getting into more adventurous camping. It has an internal frame, space for a hydro-pack, sleeping bag compartment, and integrated rain cover. All their bases are covered for any big trip! And they’ll be thanking you for such a thoughtful gift.

Personal Perspective

My recent experience with this backpack exceeded my expectations. This backpack proved its worth during a vacation, where I packed it to its limits and it stood the test of time; the adjustable straps provided comfort during long walks in different climates. The backpack has also proven to be an excellent companion on my hiking expeditions, offering ample space for all my essentials, easy organization through side and top pockets, a sturdy suspension system, and a rain cover for unexpected showers, though the small sleeping bag compartment and water bottle pockets could use some improvement.

Pop-Up Canopy Tent 10'x10'

  • Just Popping In For Some Shade

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

Oh hey, we’re just popping in to say that you should throw some shade at your friends. We don’t mean in the sassy sense, but we genuinely think you should give your friends, mom and dad, or significant other this pop-up canopy tent. It would be an excellent gift for families or groups of friends that love to go camping but need shelter from the rain and sun. Okay, wait…so that makes it a great gift for pretty much everyone.

Community Feedback

I've found this canopy to be a versatile and portable source of shade, perfect for various outdoor activities from beach trips to backyard lounging. The neutral tan color paired with the black frame offers a visually appealing alternative to the typical white and blue canopies. Despite its low price, the construction of the canopy is impressively sturdy, with a strong fabric that stood up to a summer's worth of use. However, I was disappointed to discover that the advertised corner tethers were not included, though the canopy still performed well without them.

Biodegradable Body Wipes with Tea Tree & Aloe

  • For An Instant Refresh

  • $$$$$
  • Cleanliness, Useful

Feeling and staying clean on a camping trip can be a pretty impossible task. These wipes make it easy to refresh when a shower isn’t readily available. They also make a thoughtful and useful addition to a camping gift basket. Plus, they’re biodegradable, so your environmentally-friendly pals will be comfortable using them.

First-Hand Impression

I took these wipes on a 4-wheeling trip, and their large size allowed for a full clean of face, arms, and hands with just one wipe. They've proven to be an effective alternative to daily deodorant use, managing to mask any odors and leaving me feeling fresh for a full 24 hours. These wipes are not overly moist, so there's no need for extra drying, and they're gentle on the skin while having a pleasant, non-overpowering scent.

Camping Hair Don't Care Cute Baseball Hat

  • Hats Off To This Gift!

  • $$$$$
  • Accessories, Novelties

How long has it been since she washed her hair? Four days, one week, even longer? Honestly, who cares when she has it tucked up into such a cute baseball cap. This hat would be a fun camping gift for women that still love accessories (and sun protection) while in the great outdoors. Or just your mom, friend, or daughter that wants to look cute without having to wash their hair in the river.

User Experience

For someone who values both style and comfort, this hat hit the mark with its distressed color, adjustable fit, and quirky "Camping Hair Don't Care" slogan. However, despite its aesthetic appeal, some may find the size a tad large, and the material may not be to everyone's liking, requiring a bit of tinkering to achieve a satisfactory fit.

USB Rechargeable Lighter

  • Come On Baby Light My Fire

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful

Say goodbye to soggy matches and windy nights blowing out the flame, and hello to this awesome gift for campers. This rechargeable lighter can last for multiple days and is completely waterproof. Pair it with other basic camping supplies, like hiking socks, cooking supplies, or bug spray, for an awesome and useful camping gift set.

Personal Perspective

This lighter has been a reliable addition to my camping gear, serving as both a flashlight and fire-starter. It's particularly useful as it can be easily recharged, even after the battery has completely died, and it has a handy safety feature that prevents the light from accidentally turning on in your pocket. Although the high-pitched noise it makes when ignited can be a bit startling, it's a minor quirk for an otherwise practical and efficient tool.

Cliganic 10 Pack Mosquito Repellent Bracelets

  • Useful And Fun

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful, Accessories

Accessories with a purpose? Sign us up! If you’re looking to create a camping gift basket or stocking stuffer gifts for campers, you might want to throw in a couple of these mosquito repellent bracelets. In the fight against itchy bug bites (and mosquito-borne illnesses), campers can use all the help they can get.

Community Feedback

These Cliganic mosquito repellent bracelets have been a great natural defense against pesky mosquitoes, thanks to the DEET-free formula that uses essential oils such as citronella, lemongrass, and geraniol. Not only are they conveniently individually wrapped and adjustable to fit both adults and children comfortably, but they also last for up to 250 hours, adding excellent value for the money.

Authentic Mexican Blanket

  • Picnic Time, Anyone?

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Novelties

These blankets are an absolute classic choice for campers. From picnics to an extra layer on cold nights, we permanently have one of these in the trunk of our car for wherever the day takes us. They are multifunctional, budget-friendly, and come in an array of fun patterns.

First-Hand Impression

Great for both practical and aesthetic purposes, this throw has proven to be an essential item for me. The sturdy material is easy to clean and ideal for outdoor activities such as picnics or yoga classes, and it also serves as a convenient cover for my truck seats. The colors, although slightly less vibrant than expected, still add a fun and refreshing touch to my day. Be prepared for a bit of lint initially, but this minor issue doesn't detract from the overall usefulness and charm of these throws.

Camping Pillow - Ultralight Inflatable Travel Pillows

  • Well Pillow There

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

Many campers rely on the old stuff all your clothes into a pillowcase trick to cut down on carrying supplies. However, when all your clothes smell absolutely rank or have been caught in a torrential downpour, they’ll probably wish they had one of these inflatable pillows. It’s small enough to fit in one of the tiny side pockets on their backpack and inflates to provide substantial head and neck support.

User Experience

Bought this pillow for an upcoming long flight and, so far, I'm impressed. It's compact and fits in its tiny pouch with ease, making it a breeze to carry around despite limited space. Inflating and deflating it is straightforward, although it feels a tad slippery, maybe because it's new - a small pillowcase might be a good workaround for this. Aside from flights, I've found it's also ideal for camping and hiking, packing neatly into my backpack. It's become a surprise favorite, delivering comfort wherever I use it.

LifeStraw Personal Water Filter

  • The Most Convenient Filter

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful

The idea of drinking water directly out of the river might sound like a stomach ache waiting to happen for most campers. But when you’re going on extended camping trips, it’s impossible to carry a sufficient water supply. These water filter straws are just freaking awesome, convenient, and useful, and in general, we cannot say enough good stuff about them. If you’re looking for camping gift ideas for adventurous, outdoorsy people, we highly suggest these filter straws.

Personal Perspective

I'm a camper who often embarks on extended trips, and this water filter straw has proven itself to be an invaluable tool in my kit. Instead of lugging around excessive water supplies, I can drink directly from the river without the fear of a potential stomach ailment, owing to the effectiveness of these straws. They are not just handy and compact, but also a smart choice for those who love to venture out into the wilderness.

Portable Campfire

  • We Didn’t Start The Fire

  • $$$$$
  • Useful, Gadgets

As much as most campers love sitting around the campfire, they probably equally despise all the work required to get one started and keep it going. Especially when it’s been raining and there is no dry firewood to be had. This portable campfire can take them from cold to roasting weenies faster than we can grumpily say, “no, it’s your turn to go collect firewood!”

Coleman Sundome Tent

  • Home Sweet Dome

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

Camping can get a bit in-tents…okay, we swear we’ll try to stop with the puns. But honestly, one of the most basic camping supplies is definitely a reliable tent. This one can comfortably fit up to four people and even has a port for running an extension cord through it. That could help make camping more accessible to individuals that might need medical equipment such as a CPAP machine. This could be an awesome gift for campers that need to refresh their older supplies or need to stay hooked up to electronics.

First-Hand Impression

My recent camping experience was significantly improved with this tent. The capacity to house up to four people is a comforting feature, and the inclusion of an extension cord port makes it uniquely suited to those with specific needs, such as requiring electronic medical equipment. This tent, therefore, provides both utility and convenience, making it a great addition to any camper's gear.

Reusable & Portable Eco-Friendly Grill

  • For The Grillmaster On The Go

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful

Investing in a quality camping grill can make the difference between burnt beans on toast and “Oh my god, beans have never tasted this good before.” It comes with a waterproof carrying case and plant-based charcoal pods. Your grillmaster dad will be so excited to show off his skills to all the other dads at the campsite.

Atomic Bear Paracord Bracelet (2 Pack)

  • Emergency Preparedness On Hand

  • $$$$$
  • Gadgets, Useful, Accessories

Accessories with a purpose are definitely a camping gift winner. These budget-friendly bracelets are great “just in case” camping gifts for outdoorsy people that like to push the limits on adventure. It has a fire starter, compass, emergency whistle, and more useful tools, all within easy reach. Hopefully, the recipient never needs to use them, but preparedness is key in the wilderness!

Personal Perspective

I'm quite impressed with these bracelets, which serve multiple uses and are particularly appealing to the outdoor enthusiasts. Despite the size being a bit large for my smaller wrists, the quality and functionality, including the incorporated whistle and flint, are undeniable. While the compass may require a little coaxing due to magnet interference, these bracelets still hold a wealth of utility and would be a sturdy, useful gift for campers or scouts.

Fishing Pole Campfire Roaster

  • Go Fish For S’more

  • $$$$$
  • Novelties

In all honesty, we didn’t think making s’mores could get any cooler after we realized you could swap out chocolate bars for peanut butter cups, but this fishing pole campfire roaster just proved us wrong. It would be a really fun gift for kids or your dad that loves to crack jokes. We can already picture him telling everyone at the campsite he’s going fishing, then loading up one of these poles with marshmallows.

Wranglers Sherpa-Lined Shirt Jacket

  • Flannels For All!

  • $$$$$
  • Clothing

Nothing says camping quite like a nice, thick, warm flannel shirt. And this one, in particular, takes warmth to another level with an awesome sherpa lining. With 11 patterns to choose from and sizes ranging up to 3x-large, you could pick one up for your dad, mom, boyfriend, or even matching ones for couples that love the outdoors.

First-Hand Impression

Definitely, this shirt has become my go-to for cooler weather. It's incredibly cozy, with its warm and soft texture providing comfort even when the thermostat is set low. Although it runs a bit larger than expected, I found the roominess adds to its comfy feel. The pockets are a nice touch, perfect for hands needing warmth or safekeeping of small items. After several washes in cold water, the shirt has retained its quality, making it a great addition to my winter wardrobe.

First-Hand Impression

After using this backpack on numerous trips, both for camping and hiking, I can confidently say it has met my expectations. This backpack offers a good fit, even for my kids, with plenty of room for all essentials, including a hydration bladder. The waist and chest straps were key features that I sought out, and they worked well, providing comfort and stability to my little ones. The only drawback I found was the drawstring lock mechanism, which was not very intuitive or kid-friendly. Despite this, the backpack seems well-constructed, with sturdy stitching and durable material, even incorporating a built-in whistle in the chest buckle, which my kids found fascinating.

It’s powerful enough to prepare most traditional camping meals and small enough to tag along on their biggest adventures. This grill is one of our favorite camping gift ideas for those that are just starting to accumulate their own gear and gadgets!

Community Feedback

I'm a casual camper and bought this stove to try and improve my outdoor cooking experience. While this stove is certainly lightweight and portable, it's also a bit flimsy, and the knobs and valves feel cheap and are awkwardly placed, making it difficult for me to control the flame precisely.

Men’s Merino Wool Hiking Socks

  • Toasty Toes

  • $$$$$
  • Clothing, Accessories

Hiking socks are always a welcome gift to campers. Even if they aren’t planning on hitting the trails bright and early, wonderfully thick wool socks can keep their feet toasty on those chilly nights and breezy mornings. These socks are moisture-wicking and have targeted cushioning to provide incredible support. These multi-packs would be a useful addition to a camping gift basket or Christmas stocking stuffer for campers.

First-Hand Impression

When I first slipped on these socks, I was immediately impressed by their cozy warmth and comfortable thickness. However, after a few washes, they seemed to shrink and became too small for my size 6.5 feet, making them tight around the ankles. Despite this, the socks didn't lose their snug fit throughout the day, whether I was lounging at home or out on a weekend walk. Unfortunately, they didn't prove to be very durable, as they developed holes in the heels just after a few months, but they did amazingly reduce foot odor, which was a nice bonus when worn with boots.

We definitely put this on the list as a fun accessory for kids… and not adults… unless you maybe wanted to get it for us because it’s so freaking cool. Your favorite little camper is going to be the coolest kid at the campsite, thanks to this triceratops LED headlamp that will have all adult dinosaur enthusiasts asking if it comes in grown-up sizes.

Personal Perspective

After using this dinosaur-themed children's headlamp, I found it to be both entertaining and functional. It features a range of light modes, including a regular beam, a blinking light, and a multi-color display, as well as engaging sound effects that kids adore. However, while it's not as bright as a standard headlamp, it provides sufficient light for children's activities, and though it's quite large, it's made of smooth, durable materials and is comfortable to wear, even for extended periods.

Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Hiking Boot

  • Budget-Friendly Hiking Boots For Women

  • Clothing, Accessories

We’ve been eyeing these hiking boots after trying on our friend’s pair and realizing how comfortable they are. Some hiking boots can run you in the hundreds, but as someone that literally wore hiking boots every day for work, we can honestly tell you that price tag is not always worth it. These boots have a great amount of arch support, room to add insoles if your feet need more support, and come in nice neutral color palettes (don’t get us started on brands finding any excuse to make women’s hiking gear pink).

Community Feedback

Got these budget-friendly hiking boots for women and found them to be extremely comfortable with significant arch support and sufficient room for additional insoles if needed. The neutral color palettes are a refreshing alternative to the typically pink women's hiking gear, and the overall quality of these boots far surpasses their modest price tag.

Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Waterproof Ankle Boot

  • Boots For The Boys

  • Clothing, Comfort

If your dad has been rocking the same pair of hiking boots for 20 years and claims they’re still in tip-top shape, he’s either lying or has forgotten what supportive boots feel like. Treat him to the wonderful luxury that is new boots with this pair from Timberland. These boots are a great choice for individuals just starting their outdoorsy exploration or experienced men that need a refresher on basic supplies.

First-Hand Impression

My experience with these hiking boots has been rather pleasant. They offer adequate comfort right out of the box, and the breaking-in process was surprisingly quick after a few miles of walks through the fields. However, they do lack substantial ankle support, so if you're seeking robust support for intense hiking, these might not be the right fit.

The 5-Ingredient Camping Cookbook

  • For The Gourmet Glampers

  • $$$$$
  • Useful, Novelties

Regardless of what they make, camping food almost always tastes absolutely incredible! There is just something so awesome about eating nutritious meals in the great outdoors with beautiful views and crisp fresh air. But that doesn’t mean you have to settle for hot dogs for three meals a day. This camping cookbook understands that campers aren’t going to bring an extensive list of ingredients and supplies but still want to make delicious meals!

This cookbook could be a great gift for glampers or families that want to hit the great outdoors but don’t want to depend on baked beans for a week.

User Experience

From the first use, this camping cookbook has been a revelation. The recipes are simple, yet they elevate our camping meals way beyond the typical hot dogs and baked beans. This cookbook shows that nutritious and delicious meals are possible out in the great outdoors, even with limited ingredients and supplies. It's been a joy to use and has transformed our family camping experiences into true gourmet adventures.

OAKVUE Backpacking Trowel

  • If You Know, Then You Know

  • $$$$$
  • Useful

Experienced campers already know exactly why this backpacking shovel is such an essential part of anyone’s camping supplies. In case you aren’t aware, not every campsite has toilets, and not everyone travels with one of those portable potties we put earlier on the list. If you’re looking for a useful but funny camping gag gift, hand them this trowel and some biodegradable wipes.

Personal Perspective

From my personal experience, this trowel proves to be considerably sturdy and multi-functional, providing assistance in gardening despite my arthritis-ridden hands. Its lightweight design and appropriately-sized handle make the process less strenuous, allowing me to cut through soil with ease and trim plants without carrying extra tools. Interestingly, this trowel is equipped with a sharp blade right below the end section for effective digging, a saw on the other side, and a can opener, making it not only a gardening tool but also a potential camping companion. However, its plastic cap and case design could use some improvement as they are challenging to manage and appear prone to damage.

Scrubzz Disposable No Rinse Bathing Wipes

  • Squeaky Clean, No Rinse Necessary

  • $$$$$
  • Cleanliness, Useful

Staying clean while camping, especially for women, can seem like an unwinnable battle. These wipes make it easy to quickly refresh without having to jump in a questionably clean river or creek. These would make an excellent addition to a camping gift basket or part of a homemade gift set for outdoor enthusiasts.

Community Feedback

I'm thrilled with these soapy miracles. As someone who struggled with showering due to autism and PTSD triggers, these wipes have made hygiene a less stressful and more sensory-friendly task for me. They're easy to use, require minimal water, and leave my skin feeling as clean as a traditional shower. Whether for personal challenges, post-surgery care, or just a quick freshening up, these wipes have vastly improved my day-to-day life.

Waterproof Cotton Canvas Family Camping Bell Tent

  • The Glamping Gang’s All Here

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort

Holy smokes. Personally, we’ve never been “glamping,” but this tent could definitely convert us to the fancy outdoors ways. Add some luxurious throw pillows and twinkly lights, and you could set up an incredibly romantic night away with your love bird.

First-Hand Impression

This bell tent has proven itself to be an all-weather champion, handling Florida's tropical storms and Kentucky's night rains without a leak. The sturdy center pole and ropes keep it secure, even in strong winds, while the numerous compartment holes make it easy to install accessories like an AC unit, perfect for the Florida heat. However, setup can be a bit laborious and the ropes present potential trip hazards, so be wary. Despite the minor drawbacks, the generous interior space, excellent weather resistance, and fun aesthetic make this tent a unique and enjoyable accommodation option.

Find and Seek Scavenger Hunt Game for Kids

  • Keep Kids Entertained

  • $$$$$
  • Novelties

So you know an outdoorsy couple planning on bringing their kids on their next camping trip? Keeping tots and tykes entertained under normal circumstances can be challenging, but with limited technology and toys, it could be even more difficult. This scavenger hunt is a fun way to get them excited about exploring the natural world around them.

User Experience

This game is an engaging way to enhance a toddler's vocabulary and observation skills, as evidenced by the delightful time I had playing it with my granddaughter. Despite some running around, it was enjoyable, although I would advise it's more suitable for older kids, given my 2-year-old's propensity to rip through the box. The game has a universal appeal, as it was a hit not only on a camping trip with my 5-year-old who incessantly requested repeats, but also during a weekend spent with my 6-year-old niece, with the game's descriptive words and pictures aiding younger players.

Beanie Hat with Light

  • Two In One Winner

  • $$$$$
  • Accessories, Useful, Novelties, Gadgets

Keeping both a warm hat and head torch on your head can be surprisingly difficult. This beanie and light combo make it much simpler. It would be an excellent camping gift for those that enjoy exploring colder environments. While this says it’s for men, all people need to see ahead of them and simultaneously keep their heads warm, so feel free to buy this hat for women, non-binary stars, and all the theys on the spectrum!

Personal Perspective

This beanie quickly became my go-to for early morning and nighttime dog walks. It's surprisingly warm, even in colder weather, and the built-in headlamp—compact yet impressively bright—makes spotting my dog's business a breeze. With its soft, lightweight material, colored lights, and different modes, this beanie is as functional as it is stylish.

Kitchen Gadgets Set 5 Pieces

  • Space Saving Meal Prep

  • $$$$$
  • Useful, Gadgets

Did your mom and dad just buy a slick RV? Did your pals just join the Instagram #Vanlife? Whatever type of camper they’re living in, this convenient and space-saving set of kitchen gadgets is perfect for their limited space and big appetites. All five pieces fit nicely together on the key chain or can be separated if they just want to bring the necessities out to their camp stove.

Community Feedback

In my experience, this product has been a reliable companion since moving into my new home. I found it particularly helpful while settling in, and it also proved to be an appreciated housewarming gift for a relative. Despite only using one of its features so far, it's already proven its value. Specifically, the pizza cutter has been a great space saver. While it's compact and cute, it's also extremely useful and especially shines when used for camping.

Unigear Wood Burning Camp Stoves

  • Dinners Ready!

  • $$$$$
  • Useful, Gadgets

Speaking of campsite kitchens, just check out this portable wood-burning stove! It’s small enough to bring on adventures and powerful enough to cook up a mean breakfast spread. It can use almost any type of heat source, from wood to charcoal, making it useful even when all the firewood gets soaked. This would be a great gift for couples or any outdoorsy people that love cooking over a campfire but want a bit more control.

First-Hand Impression

I'm quite fond of this cook stove, it's really come through during power outages and camping trips. It's smaller than I expected, but the stainless steel design does a great job resisting rust and it's sturdy enough for pots and pans up to 10". Some improvements could be made, like a deeper ash pan and additional tines on the grate for better support of steaks and sausages. Despite its small size, I've found it to be versatile and efficient, even with a variety of heat sources including gas, charcoal, and wood.

Tall Pop Up Privacy Tent

  • Privacy, Even In The Great Outdoors

  • $$$$$
  • Comfort, Useful

From a place to change out of stinky hiking clothes, to a discreet place to put that portable toilet, this pop-up privacy tent is a useful camping gift for those that don’t want to be super exposed in the great outdoors. Especially during busy seasons, some campsites can be surprisingly packed with people.

This privacy tent is thick enough that it won’t even show the user’s silhouette through the vinyl. It could be a particularly good gift for women, as the outdoorsy world can be a bit male-dominated, and finding a bit of privacy could be a welcome relief.

User Experience

I'm thoroughly impressed by how this pop-up privacy tent proves to be a useful camping accessory, providing a much-needed personal space in crowded campsites. With its thick vinyl material effectively masking any silhouette, this tent not only offers a discreet spot for changing clothes or using a portable toilet but also a sense of comfort and privacy that is appreciated, particularly in the outdoors.

  • Novelties

This camper doormat is a fun, personalized gift for couples or families that love to hit the road in their campers! Add the recipient’s name to one of these cute camper novelties and your favorite outdoorsy people are sure to show it off at their next campsite.

Personal Perspective

I'm certainly pleased with this rug's design that adds a delightful touch to my camper's entryway. Despite being thin and not suitable for heavy-duty shoe wiping, its charming design and adequate size make it a great accessory inside my camper. The quality might not be top-notch, but it surely enhances the overall look of my space, and it stays put without sliding around, which is a plus.

These packets provide fast relief that can help any camper feel better and get back in the action. Plus, they come in a variety of fun flavors that make relief delicious!

Community Feedback

This DripDrop ORS has been my go-to for staying hydrated, especially due to certain medical issues that demand adequate hydration. It tastes much better than other hydration water additives I've tried, making it easy to reach my daily water intake, and it also gives me a sense of natural energy that I haven't felt in years.

Electric Portable Air Pump

  • Pump Up The Air Volume

  • $$$$$
  • Useful, Gadgets

After a long day hiking, kayaking, or exploring their surrounding area, the last thing campers want to do is huff and puff for ten minutes, struggling to blow up their inflatable mattress pad or pillow. This convenient and surprisingly small air pump can inflate up to 10 air mattresses on a single charge. Or, alternatively, inflate the same air mattress that always seems to deflate in the middle of the night ten times.

First-Hand Impression

Got this air pump for my camping trips and it's been a solid addition to my gear. The pump is impressively efficient, quickly inflating my hammock's air mattress and has surprisingly durable battery life. The built-in light with three brightness settings is a nice touch for those darker nights in the wilderness. However, attaching the adapters can be a bit tricky as they're not threaded and require a bit of finesse to avoid breakage. Despite this minor issue, it's amazing how something so compact can deliver such powerful results.

User Experience

These Darn Tough socks have redefined my outdoor experiences. Their durability is unmatched, consistently battling against wear and tear without stretching or developing holes. Ideal for those with an adventurous spirit, this gift offers enduring comfort and quality in any wilderness setting.

20L Solar Heating Camping Shower Bag

  • So Fresh And So Clean

  • $$$$$
  • Cleanliness, Useful

We haven’t personally used a camping shower before (we tend to go a bit rougher on our camping trips), but this could be a welcome gift for families or couples with kids that want to go into the great outdoors.

Campsites are often popular vacation destinations for parents with multiple young children and keeping that many kids remotely clean while camping might be considered an impossible task. This shower could be a great gift for parents trying to wrangle messy tots or for women and men that want to be able to refresh before climbing into their cozy sleeping bags. Combine it with the pop-up privacy tent for a (pretty close to) real shower experience.

Personal Perspective

Best camping trip decision I've made so far, opting for this camping shower was a revelation. My experiences roughing it out in the wilderness were revamped as I could now maintain cleanliness, even with kids in tow, which previously seemed like an impossible task. Pairing this shower with a pop-up privacy tent enhanced the experience, as it felt almost like a real shower, making all our outdoor adventures more comfortable and less messy.

Biodegradable Camp Soap

  • Clean And Environmentally Friendly

  • $$$$$
  • Cleanliness, Useful

From cleaning dishes to smelly armpits, there are certain messes no one wants to put up with, even while camping. However, it’s also important to adhere to the “Leave No Trace” principles while out in nature. Using biodegradable soap is a great way to keep things clean while also not polluting the environment!

Community Feedback

This camping soap has truly proven its worth on my recent outdoor adventures. Although it's on the runnier side, it does not compromise its cleaning power - it lathers just enough and leaves no residue behind. I appreciate its eco-friendly nature, making it safe to use in the great outdoors without damaging the environment. The only minor improvement I'd suggest would be a better dispenser to control the flow, given its thin consistency.

Camping Gift FAQs

What is the Most Popular Camping Item?

The title of “Most Popular Camping Item” would probably be a tie between a dependable all-seasons tent and an all-seasons sleeping bag. These two items are pretty solid basics for new people just starting out in the camping world.

What Should I Put In a Camping Gift Basket?

Camping gift baskets can be as unique as the person you’re giving them to! You might want to start with some great basics like thick wool hiking socks, headlamps, mosquito repellent, biodegradable soap, and body wipes. Then, fill out the gift basket with some fun items that everyone loves or makes camping more fun, such as trail mix, a nice flannel, color-changing packets for the campfire, or a compact card game.

What are Fun Things to Bring Camping?

There are plenty of awesome things to pack that make camping significantly more fun! Many people choose to bring a speaker to listen to tunes (when they’re not listening to the sounds of nature, of course), playing cards and other games are another great no-tech way to pass the time, and for the adults in the room, a six-pack or more of beer is always a welcome addition!

What are the Best Camping Brands?

There are lots of great brands for camping gear, gadgets, clothing, and accessories. Some of our favorite brands include Columbia, REI, Katmandu, Back Country, The North Face, Osprey, Marmot, and Coleman. Of course, camping gear can get a bit expensive, so there are great budget-friendly alternatives out there outside of these name brands.

What Items Make Camping Easier?

First of all, it’s important to distinguish between the different types of campers out there. Some people like to drive right up to a campsite and stay within that area for a weekend or so. Other outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking and setting up camp in a new remote destination every night. Additionally, some people will only consider sleeping outside in a “glamping” situation. Depending on the type of camper they are, different gear and gadgets will make their experience easier.

People that like to stick to one campsite and explore the surrounding area typically drive up to the site with a car or RV. That means they have the space to bring more items to make the experience more comfortable, such as hammocks, chairs, portable tables, coolers, mattress pads, and portable toilets.

Backpacking campers carry all the supplies they need on their backs, and it can be difficult to find the right balance of sufficient supplies for survival and comfort versus carrying too much weight that slows you down. For these individuals, items that are collapsable or inflatable, quick-drying, and multi-functional are key. Swiss army knives, head torches, microfiber towels or body wipes, a mini camping stove, or food ration packs can make this kind of adventuring easier.

Glampers will likely require additional accessories and gear to get situated, but oftentimes these supplies are provided by the glamping site itself. If they’re not, glampers might enjoy a portable shower, a pop-up privacy tent, or a nice picnic blanket.
